Copernicus forum and Inspire 2023 #1
About the Copernicus Forum and Inspire 2023
The Copernicus remote sensing programme and the INSPIRE infrastructure addressing harmonised spatial data sharing are among the major initiatives managed and supported by the European Commission in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Environment Agency (EEA), the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) and other institutions.
Both initiatives were created to protect the environment by using sufficient and harmonised data to protect the planet. The joint conference, organised under the umbrella of Czech Space Week, the largest event focused on the space industry, therefore naturally creates an environment for connecting communities and seeking synergies between the potentials and challenges of both initiatives.
We hope that this event will bring new inspiration to the participants and provide opportunities for new forms of cooperation. This year’s combined conferences of the Czech User Forum Copernicus and Inspire will take place 29-30. November 2023 and for the first time will take place halfway between the Czech and Slovak communities in the inspiring environment of the Brno Observatory and Planetarium.
The conference itself, under the new concept, will offer two days divided according to themes, each of which will have its own conference day and a day for workshops only. More information can be found on the official website of the event.
