As part of this year’s Czech Space Week, the Olomouc Fortress of Knowledge has prepared a rich accompanying programme for the general public, children and their parents. It runs throughout November, so come to the place where science lives and discover the universe as you (don’t) know it! |

Week of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic |
The Week of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is a science festival that is a seamless continuation of the former Week of Science and Technology of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. It includes lectures, exhibitions, events at workplaces, documentary films, workshops and many other activities across the country and all scientific disciplines. The festival is intended both for high school students, for whom we prepare mainly lectures and excursions in the morning, and for the general public, who are targeted by the programme in the afternoon and evening. This year, the Academy of Sciences becomes an official member of the Czech Space Team, so it is fitting that the 4th edition of the festival will take place in the same week as Czech Space Week. |

AXRO – International workshop on Astronomical X-Ray Optics |
The 15th International Conference on Astronomical X-ray Optics aims to present and discuss the latest and future technologies for future X-ray astronomy missions. The aim of the workshop is to present and discuss recent and future technologies for X-ray astronomy missions. Although the focus of the conference is on astronomical X-ray optics, participants from the non-astronomy X-ray community are also welcome, as many aspects such as the design, fabrication and testing of X-ray optics are similar for both communities and thus sharing experiences can be beneficial for all. |

Come and see the European Union Space Programme Agency and enjoy a fun and informative event! You will learn about the agency and what it does, and there will be engaging activities, from interactive augmented reality experiences to crypto games, treasure hunts and informative sessions.

Science show Ko(s)mic expedition |
Join us on a journey into the depths of space. Don’t forget to bring warm clothes, it’s going to be cold! Our performers will simply introduce you to the basics of rocketry and introduce you to space exploration. You can already look forward to experiments with liquid nitrogen, the launch of a research rocket and a taste of the astronauts’ diet. The Science Show is a fun interactive performance full of experiments and demonstrations, a humorous excursion into the world of science performed by experienced performers from the Fortress of Knowledge. Experience fun for the whole family that even young children will understand, but even science professionals will not despise. The science show is part of the science workshop package. Enter the exhibition Reason in your hand. 3D puzzles, logic tasks and tricky puzzles and ciphers await you, testing your knowledge and intellect, as well as an eight-metre-long model of the human brain. Once you’ve got your head like a search balloon, just try one of the museum’s most popular attractions for your own (un)safety.
