There is no day like a day, month like a month, year like a year

11. 11. 2021, 9:00-9:35

A day is not like a day – why does a day have 24 hours? And what kind of day lasts 23 hours 56 minutes? There is no moon like the moon – how long does it take the moon to go around the earth? And how often do the phases of the moon change? A year is not like a year – why does some years have one more day? And what is the complete rule for leap years? Why do we only see one side of the Moon from Earth? We will answer these questions not only with interactive animations.

You can watch the show at the following link: There is no day like a day LIVE.

A recording will be available for viewing after the lecture here.

Presented by Tomáš Franc from ESA ESERO / Gymnasium Litoměřická and the Central Committee of the Astronomical Olympics.
